all original and completely intact late 19th century "ceylon" pattern interior residential mortise lock manufactured by the p. & f. corbin co., new britain, ct. the functional mortise lock contains an ornamental cast brass faceplate with original black enameled inlay. the spring-loaded latch and dead bolts are intact. the japanned (i.e., baked black enameled finish) cast iron lock box is free from damage. measures 5 1/4 x 7/8 x 3 1/4 inches.
