intact and fully functional early 20th century antique american interior office room flush mount push button light switch removed from the reliance building (extant) designed by architects burnham and atwood. the combination wall-mount push button electric switch and beveled edge yellow brass backplate were likely designed and fabricated by the perkins electric switch mfg. co., bridgeport, ct. the flush mount push button plate contains a nicely aged surface patina that has been lightly cleaned. the original diminutive set screws used to attach the cover plate to the electrical and/or conduit remain intact and in working order (i.e., not stripped). the single station switch contains a single button with the synthetic mother-of-pearl inlay. the ceramic housing, terminal screws, etc., remain in good working condition. the electric light switch was salvaged from an upper floor office while undergoing extensive remodeling for a boutique hotel. measures 3 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/4 inches.
