late 1920's american depression era all original adjustable height four-legged angled steel telephone company switchboard operator stationary chair fabricated by the angled steel stool company, plainwell, mi. the stool base is comprised of heavy gauge angled steel with riveted joints for added support and stability. the four horizontal stretchers are original and intact. the spacious maple wood seat and contoured backrest have been thoroughly cleaned and refinished. the legs contain the characteristic inward-turned ball feet that were developed by the angled steel stool company. the brushed metal finish has been treated with a clear coat finish to prevent surface corrosion. base measures at 15 inches. seat measures at 14 inches x 14 inches. seat height measures at 27 inches by 39 inches.
