late 19th or early 20th century highly ornate american antique interior residential solid cast iron chicago graystone coat hook possibly fabricated by russell & erwin or the p. & f. corbin co., new britain, ct. the oversized coat or hat hook was salvaged from a badly damaged parlor hall tree. the base of the hook contains two closely spaced hooks below, with a larger top hook with flat head profile. original copper-plated finish over iron. the surface patina remains mostly uniform throughout.
