late 19th century original solid oak wood salvaged chicago residential full-sized fireplace mantel designed and fabricated by or for th charles f. lorenzen & company, chicago, ills. the varnished oak wood mantel with back mirror features a protruding curved shelf with opposed columns. the simple, but elegant firepalce mantel retains the original header with dentil crown molding. the mantel is in good overall condition.
