single all original and intact salt glazed stoneware bottle with long tapered collar manufactured for chicago-based bottler joseph jerusalem. the pint sized weiss beer shaped beer bottle has sloping shoulders and a non-existent neck finished with an applied long tapered collar with minimal wear along the edge. the body is cream colored, and is impressed with a slanted stamp near the shoulder that reads “j. jerusalem / chicago” around a diminutive worn logo. there is a flat impressed chip near the neck on the back of the bottle. the base is smooth with no markings. german immigrant joseph jerusalem ran a small brewery (1869-1887) specializing in weiss beer, a light-colored, effervescent ale that was made from top fermented malted wheat. the exact fabricator is not known. measures 8 inches in height.
