remarkably detailed all original and structurally intact late 19th or early 20th century hand-painted polychromatic cast plaster life-sized statue of jesus christ removed from a notable chicago church demolished long ago. the oversized freestanding statue is completely finish from all sides. the hand-painted finish shows wear and crazing consistent with age. the beaded rosary with cross are detachable from the statue. the base is comprised of wood for added durability. the attention to detail pertaining to the facial features, along with the skin tones applied are most impressive. the well-executed statue is attributed to the bernard statuary company, chicago, ill. measures 20 x 15 x 60 inches.
