early 20th century antique american industrial robust heavy gauge steel hot roofing tar can with unusually shaped spout. the weathered and worn tar can contains two handles located on the side (rear) and top near the hinged lid with mesh. residual black tar remains on the can's exterior. the fabricator is not known. the all-welded joint steel tar can remains structurally sound and stable. measures 22 x 8 x 22 inches.
