completely intact and functional industrial antique american factory office incandescent table lamp manufactured around 1917-1920 by the faries mfg. co., decatur, il. the table or desk lamp contains a weighted cast iron pedestal base with turned and tapered brass cover plate. the stationary supporting post extension features a unique twisted rope design motif. the flexible brass gooseneck arm contains lightly incised manufacturer markings. the bryant paddle or key socket is original and has been rewired with period appropriate braided cloth lamp cord. the parabola-shaped wrought steel reflector with rolled rim contains a unique socket holder designed and patented by arthur edward widenhoeft in 1916. the portable lamp retains the original highly desirable "normandy bronze" plated finish.
