late 1920's refinished american art deco style ornamental cast iron panel salvaged from the marshall field & company department store. the exact fabricator or foundry is not know. the perforated heavy iron panel features a repeating chevron design motif accentuated with opposed volutes and embossed diamonds running vertically along the edges. the cast iron component has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the original finish has not been identified. the panels were acquired in poor shape with tasteless paint jobs obscuring much of the detail. the building was added to the national register of historic places on january 21, 1988. it is one of the two locations (along with the evanston location) that the company chose to expand to when it decided to add suburban stores. the art deco style department store designed by the architectural firm of graham, anderson, probst & white. multiple panels available. priced individually. panel measures at 9 inches x 3/4 inches x 35 inches.
