completely intact depression era american art moderne style heavy gauge steel multi-drawer supply cabinet salvaged from an old dentist office located south of chicago. the highly stylized freestanding cabinet retains the original detachable black porcelain enameled top with a completely intact three-sided polished chrome metal rail guard. the left side of the cabinet contains four equally-sized drawers with original black bakelite handles. the right side of the cabinet contains a medicine "lock box" with single hinged door and handle. the spacious interior is divided by a single plate glass shelf. the original barrel or cylinder lock with two spare flat keys remain intact. the bottom right corner contains a similar cabinet door, minus the glass viewing pane, used primarily for the storage of dressings and the like. the older mint green enameled finish remains in great condition, considering age. fabricated by the the american cabinet co., division of hamilton mfg. co., two rivers, wi. measures 33 1/2 x 15 1/2 x 32 inches.
