completely refinished c. 1931 american industrial heavy gauge furniture sheet steel mail clerk stationary desk salvaged from the kokomo, indiana post office. the four-legged desk contains four tubular square-shaped legs reinforced by horizontal stretchers. the custom-built desk features a single pull-out or sliding drawer with riveted joint bent steel handle. the deeply recessed open-ended slot originally held clipboards and the like. the desk contains both riveted and machine screw joinery. the spacious tabletop remains in great condition, considering age. the brushed metal finish was treated with a clear coat lacquer. the desk was fabricated by the hubeny brothers, roselle, nj. measures 48 x 29 1/2 x 34 inches.
