early 1950's american medical refinished heavy gauge steel hospital storage cabinet likely fabricated by art metal inc., jamestown, ny. the hospital research laboratory specimen storage cabinet contains a brushed metal exterior finish sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the spacious cabinet interior retains the original off-white baked enameled finish. the four matching adjustable and/or detachable pressed and folded steel shelves are intact. the freestanding cabinet is equipped with two matching long and narrow doors with clear glass viewing panes. the chrome plated handles are original to the cabinet. salvaged from the old cook county hospital, chicago, il. measures approximately 36 x 12 x 71 1/2 inches.
