the la salle hotel was located on the northwest corner of la salle street and madison street in downtown chicago. the hotel was built between 1908 and 1909 by the architectural firm of holabird & roche contemporaneously with the blackstone hotel (extant) designed by benjamin marshall in a similar style. the hotel was later demolished in 1976. the depression era cast brass key fob originally contained a key for use with a hotel guest room. the fob contains a lightly embossed image of the hotel.
