hard to find and completely intact 19th century antique american ornamental cast bronze exterior residential entrance door backplate or escutcheon designed and fabricated by the hopkins & dickinson mfg. co., new york city, ny. the bronze metal backplate contains two keyholes, with the slightly larger one partially concealed by the original swinging keyhole cover plate. the door escutcheon features lightly incised and slightly raised abstract floral motifs. measures approximately 9 1/2 x 2 inches.
