original and intact pair of 1880's mouth-blown electric or "7-up green" glass food jars. a slim octagonal caper glass features a multi-paneled body with a wide cylindrical bore, a molded lower ring and a tooled one-part finish. the second jar is far less decorative, and tapers from a wide, round body into a tooled single ring lip. both feature strong side seams ending at the base of the neck, and smooth bases. surface wear and irridization are typical of having been dug. crudities like asymmetry and bubbles are typical of age and date of manufacture. both have been lightly cleaned (not tumbled), so appear vibrant and with little haze or discoloration.
