all original and completely intact one of a kind c. 1930's antique american industrial portable four tray cantilever toolbox or chest handmade by a tool & die factory machinist. the "accordion style" multi-level tool chest is comprised of folded and pressed galvanized sheet steel reinforced with brazed joints. the four compartments are interconnected with pivoting heavy gauge steel straps fastened to the sides with machine screws. the lockable hasp remains in excellent working condition. the "signature" (i.e., date of assembly and maker initials) are stamped on a riveted joint plaque affixed to the underside of the hinged lid. original black enameled finely turned wood handle. the exterior has been thoroughly refinished and treated with a clear coat lacquer. dates to 1939. excellent overall condition.
