hard to find original antique mid-nineteenth century richly colored and heavily irridized privy dug pony style soda bottle manufactured for terre haute bottlers f. seibt & co. the squat body and high shoulders taper into a wide, squat neck and applied blobtop. the base is smooth with rough whittling, indicating it was likely manufactured with sand pontil. the entire bottle is intact except for a single flat chip extending from an open bubble at the front heel. the front body is embossed with the bottler's name and location. on the side at the heel is embossed in diminutive lettering, "i.g.co. l", indicating it was manufactured by the ihmsen glass company, limited in pittsburgh, pennsylvania between 1876-1900. seibt & company operated at 1012 iflain street, selling seltzers, mineral and soda water, champagne, and cider.
