original american made "simmons" brand c. 1930's four-legged hotel room furniture piece with mostly uniform brushed metal finish. the stationary side table or compact desk was designed and fabricated by the simmons mfg. co., kenosha, wi. the slightly tapered tubular square legs are structurally sound and stable. the original beveled edge backsplash is tightly secured to the tabletop. the single, oversized pull-out drawer contains two solid steel knob pulls. the brushed metal finish has been treated with a clear coat lacquer. the side table measures 32 x 19 x 30 1/2 inches.
