one of two nearly identical refinished and fully functional antique american industrial late 19th century adjustable height draftsman factory office stools designed and fabricated by the eugene dietzgen co., principal factory, chicago, il. the sturdy four-legged refinished solid birch wood stationary base contains multiple turned dowels or stretchers for added strength and stability. the slightly outswept turned wood legs remain structurally sound and sturdy. the stool contains an unusual brass-plated cast iron cradle and solid steel spindle affixed tightly to the oak wood swivel seat. the top portion of the legs are fastened firmly to the lightly polished brass-plated housing containing the threaded spindle. measures 13 inches in diameter and adjusts between 18-24 inches high.
