original c. 1930's american art deco antique lounge "z" armchair designed by gilbert rohde and manufactured by the royal metal manufacturing co. original light gray upholstered seat cushion and backrest. these "royalchrome" streamlined chairs contain a chrome-plated, tubular steel frame with very little, if any pitting. the style resonates somewhat with the designs of wolfgang hoffmann for howell. measures 31 x 24 x 20 inches. removed from the lobby of a chicago hospital building.
