all original heavily reinforced american industrial pressed and formed riveted joint steel three-tier stationary factory machine shop shelving unit fabricated by the standard pressed steel co., jenkintown, pa. the "hallowell" steel industrial fixture contains three identical tiers with slightly raised edges to prevent spillage. the single sliding drawer retains the original brass cylinder or barrel lock (key lost long ago). the spacious utilitarian workstation has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the shelving unit was salvaged from a chicago general electric factory complex. fabricated in the late 1930's. great overall condition. measures approximately 20 x 28 1/4 x 40 inches.
