19th century american antique ornamental cast bronze interior residential pocket door escutcheon designed and patented by john j. kennedy of branford, ct. the "ivy" pattern backplate was salvaged from the david c. cook mansion, located in elgin, il. the deeply recessed cup handle contains a centrally located keyhole. mostly uniform surface patina. the "ivy" pattern hardware was found exclusively on the first floor o the residence. fabricated by branford lock works, branford, ct. measures approximately 6 x 2 5/8 inches..
