group of three matching late 19th century "ceylon" pattern interior residential passage door lock sets with original "jet black" glazed ceramic doorknobs. salvaged from a chicago residence undergoing demolition. fabricated around 1890-1900 by the p. & f. corbin hardware co., new britain, ct. the backplates and mortise locks are comprised of steel with traces of the original copper-plated finish somewhat intact. the lock boxes are cast iron with original black enameled finish. the latch and dead bolts are made of cast brass. the porcelain doorknob shanks are cast iron. priced for the lot of three.
