original early american medical cold-rolled furniture sheet steel hospital examination room workstation or vanity designed and fabricated by the frank s. betz company, hammond, ind. the four-legged all-steel desk contains four uprightly tubular square posts with original swivel casters. the cabinet contains a spacious single pull-out drawer above, with two flanking smaller drawers below. the drawer pulls or knobs are comprised of brushed steel. the oversized pivoting mirror is supported by two upright tubular posts with pyramidal-shaped caps or finials. the brushed steel finish has been treated with a clear coat lacquer. salvaged from the old cook county hospital, chicago, il. measures 34 1/2 x 19 x 33 inches.
