original antique american interior residential ornamental cast iron fireplace summer cover featuring an assemblage of musical instruments (e.g., lyre, etc.) outlined in deep relief floriated scrollwork. the late 19th century summer cover contain a nice and even metallic gold enameled finish. fabricated around 1890-95 by the peerless mfg. co., louisville, ky. recently salvaged from a chicago graystone residence demolished in the fall of 2011. measures 20 x 26 inches.
