exceptionally rare crude c. 1830's-1850's free-blown dark olive amber glass quart size bottle fabricated for unknown bottler. the full, asymmetrical body has low, very steep shoulders that curve into a long neck and crude, thick applied double tapered collar. the richly colored glass varies from opaque or "black" to light yellow in tone. crudities typical of its age and date of manufacture include allover seeding, bubbles, and whittling. the base exhibits a deep rounded kickup with some jagged, uneven glass from manufacture with pontil rod. the bottle is completely intact and in good condition. fabricator and contents unmarked.
