hard to find early nineteenth century deep olive or black glass early ale style unmarked bottle. the richly colored glass is opaque and appears speckled; when held to the light it is a vibrant olive amber where the glass is thinner. the tall body has steep shoulders and a long, slightly bulbous neck finished with a crude rolled collar. at the base is a deeply rounded kickup that retains little residue from the iron pontil. crudities include allover seeding, several open "onion skin" bubbles, whittling, and a wrinkle-like wave in the glass on the lower body. no markings are available to indicate maker or contents.
