exceptional all original and intact c. 1930's american industrial cast aluminum specification plaque carefully salvaged from an original city of chicago cypress wood water tank with tower that was demolished earlier this year. the reinforced aluminum plaque was fabricated by or for the wendnagel & co., mfgs., chicago, ills. the firm was established in 1889 and was considered one of the most prominent builders of tanks and towers throughout the midwest. the cypress wood tank, with wood floor, conical top and wood finial was carefully deconstructed and repurposed into a wood wall in a prominent chicago restaurant. the single-sided plaque contains two large holes for mounting purposes.
