original c. 1840's-1850's early antique american privy dug crudely shaped cornflower blue freeblown glass porter-style bottle. the unmarked bottle has no indication of manufacturer. the squat, low shouldered body has a slim neck and is finished with a crude applied blob with an uneven bore. crudities in the glass include asymmetry, substantial whittling and stretch marks on the neck, bubbles, and surface scratches. the bottle has been lightly cleaned (tumbled). possibly fabricated in pittsburgh, pa., for bottler kennedy (see other bottle listings).
