one of two early 20th century american "sullivanesque" style tin ceiling rectangular-shaped pane retaining the original lightly crazed brown paint finish. the intricately detailed panel incorporates distinctive geometric and organic design elements used in the original architecture of louis h. sullivan and george grant elmslie. perhaps the most well-documented imitation lies in the form of exterior terra cotta elements, manufactured in great quantity by the midland terra cotta co. the fabricator of "sullivanesque" tin ceiling panel is attributed to the friedley-voshardt company, chicago, ills. the panel measures 24 x 12 inches.
