original late 1930's american industrial heavy gauge steel "chief" wrench tool chest or cabinet designed and fabricated by the blackhawk mfg.. co., milwaukee, wisc. the original distressed red paint finish was lightly cleaned, but otherwise left largely untouched. the fold-out cabinet with multiple compartments retains the original, albeit rusty opposed drop handles. the wrenches were removed long ago. the cabinet's interior retains the original polychrome manufacturer's label with several patent dates listed - either for the design/construction of the chest and/or the wrenches once contained within. measures approximately 22 x 13 x 10 inches.
