c. 1940's american vintage industrial four-legged fully adjustable height stool designed and fabricated by the pollard brothers mfg., co., chicago, il. the stool frame is comprised of heavy gauge angled steel with welded and riveted joints. the circular-shaped seat is original and intact. the slightly contoured maple wood backrest is supported by two bent steel brackets affixed to the underside of the seat. the yellow painted finish is original and mostly uniform throughout. the stool was salvaged from the zim mfg. company factory. founded in 1919, the zim manufacturing company specialized in the manufacture of automobile specialty tools and gauges, housewares, and other hand tools. the extant factory is located on the far west side of chicago. several stools available.
