early 1920's original american vintage industrial mobile ultraviolet light therapy arc lamp repurposed into an everyday floor lamp. the "alpine sun lamp" was likely fabricated by the mcintosh electrical corp., chicago, il. the lamp contains a deep bowl aluminum shade with rolled rim. the socket housing and counterweight are comprised of cast iron, and are mounted on the end of a heavy gauge steel tubular arm. the unusual cast iron bracket with dial joint is mounted atop a telescoping yellow brass pole contained within a larger sleeve comprised of steel. the height is adjusted with the use of a circular-shaped cast iron dial handle. the fanciful three-legged cast iron base retains the original swivel casters. the lamp has been thoroughly cleaned, brushed and rewired. great overall condition. shade measures 11 inches in diameter x 70-80 inches in height,
