late 1940's largely intact vintage american industrial refinished "localite" triple joint task lamp designed and fabricated by the fostoria pressed steel corp., fostoria, oh. the pressed and formed steel articulating lamp contains a rolled rim slim helmet or "pear" reflector-shade with integrated socket house. the brushed metal finish has been sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the original socket and wiring were removed long ago. the task lamp was originally mounted to a factory machine shop lathe. fostoria began producing the "localite" (in various configurations) beginning in 1918. the ball-and-socket joints are in good working condition. several variations available.measures 33 inches in length, when fully extended.
