c. 1930's original american antique industrial four-legged freestanding factory machine shop stool designed and fabricated by the angle steel stool company, plainwell, mi. the heavily reinforced angled steel stool is comprised of multiple stretchers (in cross-formation) riveted tightly against the legs. the tall steel base has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the maple wood seat is original with shop wear consistent with age. the robust stationary chair or stool is of sound and sturdy construction. the angle steel stool company was founded in 1910 by charles pipp and john linsey. originally located in otsego, mi., the owners chose to move their busniess to plainwell, mich., in 1922. the industrial furniture fabricator operated well into the 20th century. measures approximately 15 x 15 x 27 inches.
