c. 1870's antique american ornamental cast bronze flush mount interior residential swinging door push plate designed and fabricated by the p. & f. corbin company, new britain, ct. the single intricately designed backplate was offered in two patterns: the first being two birds resting on a bowl supported by a pedestal (as depicted in this listing). the second variation consists of the same centrally located ring with the word "push" surrounded by elegant leafage (see image and/or listing ((ur-10616-11). the single-sided surface mount bronze push plate contains very distinctive and richly ornate foliated scrollwork surrounding the center. the backplate contains four screw holes for mounting purposes. the nicely aged surface patina has not been altered. exceptional 19th century american swinging door hardware. only one available with the birds resting on the fountain.
