original 19th century ornamental cast bronze interior residential "brocade" pattern dome-shaped doorknob designed and fabricated by the p. & f. corbin co., new britain, ct. features a centrally located and slightly sunkien or recessed encircled floral rosette with knurled edging. mostly uniform surface patina. the doorknob was designed and patented by george s. barkentin in april of 1882. the hardware features a unique field pattern consisting of lightly incised circular rosettes. measures approximately 2 1/4 inches.
