structurally sound and reinforced all-welded joint angled iron table base or work stand removed from a recently shuttered chicago tool & die factory established in 1896. the custom-built or greatly altered table base consists of several stretchers supporting four upright legs with slightly flared feet. when discovered, the top was a thin steel plate with several drill holes. the freestanding base has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. great potential in a variety of design applications. measures 13 1/2 x 23 x 33 1/2 inches.
