late 19th century antique american victorian era ornamental riveted joint wrought iron exterior window guard with a nicely distressed, original black enameled finish. the decorative iron panel was salvaged from a late 19th century non-extant hotel located in downtown chicago. the iron grille was likely fabricated by the dearborn foundry, chicago, il. the window guard features an intact surrounding frame with symmetrically designed scroll work. measures 61 3/4 x 23 inches.
