original and completely intact american depression era mobile compartmentalized lowboy dresser cabinet designed and fabricated by the simmons mfg. co., kenosha, wisc. the pressed and folded metal dresser was patented by albert witike in the 1930's. the brushed metal dresser contains multiple sliding drawers with original knob pulls. the oversized tilting mirror with arch top is in great overall condition. the spindled legs are strong and sturdy. the lowboy dresser or cabinet has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the bare metal dresser was salvaged from a chicago hospital private patient room. very clean and simple in design. great overall condition. strong and sturdy. simmons specialized in the industrial design and fabrication of all-metal furniture for use in mostly commercial applications (e.g., hospitals, schools, office buildings, hotels, etc.).
