original early 20th century thoroughly cleaned and refinished antique american industrial repurposed "simplex" stationary table or desk with the base designed and fabricated for use with simplex typesetting machines. the reinforced brushed cast iron bases were fabricated by or for the simplex mfg. co., new york city, ny. the robust untreated old growth wood slab is reinforced along the underside by two opposed heavy gauge steel plates. the robust iron legs and stretcher rods were brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer to prevent surface rust, etc. the repurposed table is complete and ready for immediate installation. measures 65 1/2 x 26 x 29 inches.
