completely refurnished c. 1900's original antique american stationary saloon or card table designed and patented by john hinkel of milwaukee, wisc., in 1886. the brushed metal cast bass contains uniquely shaped inwardly-curved legs that appear both light and tasteful in design. the centrally located polygonal "bracepiece" is comprised of perforated cast iron with floral motifs. in addition to support, the small undershelf or stand provides space for hats and other small articles. the newly added sanded and stained tabletop is comprised of solid mahogany wood with recessed apron. the early 20th century card table was fabricated by the chicago hardware foundry co., chicago, il. measures approximately 28 x 28 x 28 inches
