likely fabricated in philadelphia, pa.
extremely rare original and intact c. late 1840's or early 1850's american light aqua blue or "aquamarine" colored-glass "superior" brand mineral water six-sided or multifaceted dug chicago bottle. the early to mid-nineteenth century chicago soda bottle contains a remarkable intact blobtp and sloping neck and multi-paneled body. alternating panels are embossed " superior / mineral / water" and the glass features no maker's mark. mineral water bottles date back earlier to the 1820's with lynch and clarke. the vibrantly colored bottle has a deeply pontiled base that exhibits very little, if any, traces of iron oxide. the hand blown bottle would have had a cork stopper.
