hard to find all original late 19th century ornamental cast brass "devil" calling card tray manufactured by the russell & erwin mfg. co., new britain, ct. the highly collectible and sought after figural tray features a remarkably detailed devil head with protruding horns grasping an outstretched garment. the opposite end features human and hoofed feet with a curvaceous bifurcated tail. nicely aged surface patina. manufacturer markings lightly embossed on the reverse.
