original and well-maintained c. 1910-15 american antique industrial solid maple wood stationary tool & die factory machine shop workbench or table. the robust shopworn maple wood table contains a tilting or pivoting top adjusted manually with the use of a crank handle located on the underside of the tabletop. the four-legged, workstation contains square posts that are heavily reinforced with thru or through bolt construction (both tabletop and base). the custom-built table was salvaged from an old family-owned chicago and tool & die factory that recently closed. most of the equipment from the early 1900's was found in basement storage. great surface patina throughout. the base and tabletop are structurally sound and stable. measures 42 1/4 x 38 x 33 1/2 inches.
