original late 1940's american industrial stationary machine base or stand salvaged from a chicago (likely midway) airport hanger several years ago. the exact purpose or machine used with this unique and unusual base is not known. the four-legged base is comprised of all-welded heavy gauge angled iron with criss-cross stretchers on three sides. the front is open-ended with a shelf containing steel mesh. the fabricator is not known. the original green paint is largely intact, with age appropriate wear consistent with age. the threaded steel levelers provide added stability. 48 inches x 22 inches x 28 inches.
