one of two groups or lots of original and intact (original mortise lock keys lost long ago) "ceylon" pattern interior residential double sliding or pocket door hardware designed and fabricated by the p. & f. corbin co, new britain, ct. the set includes four matching cast bronze escutcheons and two mortise locks equipped with finger locks and push-button sliding handles. the bronze hardware has been refinished with a treatment used to enhance the casting detail. the double pocket door set (two matching) were salvaged from a chicago graystone (first and second floors). the hardware is in great overall condition. dates to the late 1880's. the "ceylon" eastlake style pattern was very popular and highly desirable for residential hardware treatments. priced for the complete lot as shown in the images. larger mortise lock measures 7 5/8 x 4 x 1 1/8. small mortise lock measures 7 5/8 x 3 1/2 x 1 1/8 inches. escutcheons measure 5 7/8 x 2 3/8 x 1/4 inches.
