pair of american early 20th century stamped ornamental steel residential passage door backplates with original brass-plated finish largely intact. the set of doorknob backplates were likely fabricated by the russell & erwin "russwin" mfg. co., new britain, ct. each matching backplate contains a single keyhole, two screw holes and a protruding collar or thimble. priced for the pair. measure approximately 5 1/2 x 1 3/4 inches.
