pair of massive all original 19th century antique american interior residential sliding or pocket doors salvaged from a chicago three-flat constructed between 1881-1886. the doors were likely fabricated by the palmer, fuller & company, chicago, ills. remarkably, the original two-tone walnut wood grain "faux" finish over yellow pine wood remains remarkable intact on each door. the doors were outfitted with wilcox mfg. co. rollers or hangers and nashua aesthetic movement bronze hardware. only one set was left unpainted. all three sets were sealed in their pockets since the 1950's (newspaper stuffed in with the boards concealing the doors attests to this. the faux grain finish is truly amazing in both execution and finish. allover crazing consistent with age. the three-flat chicago boarding house is slated for demolition in november of 2015. the paneled doors are priced as a pair.
